This year we're doing things a little differently. Buyers look for a combination of things when buying a car, like price point, practicality, reviews, and features. To create this list, we've gone over more than just sales numbers, we've looked at some of the most highly reviewed cars, as well as cars that are considered to be very good value for money.
Without further ado, let's go over AMTs Top 10 Cars of 2025.

The Vauxhall Astra ranked very highly for driver satisfaction, being praised for it's ride and handling, plus an overall enjoyable driving experience. The Astra now features contemporary exterior design with Vauxhall's new snazzy 'Vizor' styling language seen on the rest of their lineup. Their powertrains now include a 1.6 plug-in hybrid option too, showing how consumers are shifting towards more economical forms of driving. The interiors of the Astra look great, blending contemporary design with all the functionality you'd come to expect in a modern vehicle. Their Astra range are available as hatchback, estate, and even an all-electric variant, meaning there's something to suit everyone.

The Qashqai scored 3rd for the top selling cars of 2025, with over 32,000 registrations, maintaining it's position as one of Britain's most trusted family SUVs. Designed in London, developed in the Midlands, and manufactured in Sunderland, the Qashqai represents genuine British automotive engineering. The latest generation Qashqai features improved cabin quality with suede trims and metal-effect accents, alongside the innovative e-Power hybrid system - where the petrol engine operates primarily as a generator for the electric battery, rather than powering the wheels directly. A 5-star Euro NCAP rating with outstanding adult and child occupant protection scores give even more reason to trust this vehicle, giving you a smooth ride in optimum safety.

Vauxhall makes a few appearances in this list, showing just how popular and versatile their vehicles are. The Grandland, just like the Astra, was rated very highly. Despite moderate sales volumes, this mid-size SUV is praised a lot for it's spacious, well-appointed interior and enjoyable ride comfort. The new facelift Grandland introduced modern exterior styling with the 'Vizor' style language, adaptive LED headlights, and improved connectivity. Petrol turbo, diesel, plug-in hybrid and all-electric options give customers a variety of choices to suit them, all of which offer very reasonable running costs and reliability. Whilst the market might seem flooded with SUVs right now, it's for good reason, they're growing in popularity, and whilst the Grandland doesn't shine in pure sales numbers, those that have purchased one absolutely love it.

Ranking as one of the best selling cars of 2025, with nearly 24,000 registrations, it also achieved a very high customer satisfaction score as well. This mid-sized SUV was praised heavily for its generous technology pack, as well as its smooth ride quality and spacious interior. With a range of powertrain options available, including mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid, buyers have a choice of how they'd like to drive, with hybrid options offering lower running costs for a more economical drive. Despite the competitive pricing, many people still praise the premium-feeling materials for the interior, and modern safety systems are also rated quite highly. The Tucson achieves an impressive balance of practicality, refinement, comfort, and value for money, which explains why it's loved by both fleet buyers and private owners alike.

The Sportage ranked 2nd for the best selling car in 2024, and it achieved the same ranking in 2025 too, with nearly 39,000 registrations, showing that buyers have consistent confidence in this family SUV. The Sportage appeals to customers with its great build-quality, impressive seven-year warranty, and well-designed infotainment system. The Sportage comes in a range of trims and powertrain options to suit everyone's budget, and a 5-star Euro NCAP rating offers superb adult and child occupancy protection, reinforcing the Sportage's positioning as a family-car. With consistent buyer satisfaction and competitive pricing against premium rivals, is it any surprise that the Sportage is one of the best cars of 2025?

Being one of the cheapest new cars available, it's no surprise that this is ranked so highly here. This supermini strips away unnecessary complexity to deliver spacious, practical motoring aimed at first-time buyers, young drivers, as well as cost-conscious families. Despite the low costs, the Sandero still offers adequate performance, with a 0.62mph of around 12 seconds, depending on the trim. The Sandero also offers standard safety features you'd come to expect, a straightforward infotainment, and surprisingly good interior materials. With the vehicle being so cheap, it'd be wrong to expect standout features, as this isn't what the Sandero is targeting, but for the price it is a solid vehicle that serves its purpose very well with an honest value proposition.

Getting closer to the No. 1 spot, Dacia makes another appearance with the Duster, ranking as one of the most highly rated cars of 2025, as well as one of the highest value for money cars too. This modest SUV is a significant step up from the Sandero in terms of space, practicality, and durability, whilst still managing to undercut almost all of their competitors. With modest performance (still better than the Sandero), sensible running costs and a genuinely spacious interior, it's easy to see why this is such a highly rated car, and the boot space is one of its standout features. The Duster still manages to prove that practicality is more valuable to many rather than premium badge appeal.

In at No.3 on our list, the GLE achieved the highest driver satisfaction ratings for 2025, making it a staple for many. The large premium SUV is loved for its driving pleasure, safety, climate control, and overall quality. The only area users weren't as impressed is its running costs, which isn't surprising from a two-and-a-half-tonne SUV. The GLE's technological prowess and ergonomic design - balancing physical controls with intuitive touchscreen operation - sets a standard that many other manufacturers should follow. Available in a range of powertrains to suit everyone's needs, the GLE really is for those that seek a premium driving experience, with comfort, advanced technology, and incredible luxury, and perhaps don't mind slightly higher running costs.

The Puma was the best selling car of 2024, and it remains unstoppable in 2025, maintaining the title of the best selling car with over 41,000 registrations. This compact SUV is packed with more features than you'd expect for entry-level pricing, offering a cleverly designed cabin with comfort and versatility in mind. Premium materials, an intuitive infotainment system and supportive seating create a welcoming environment for both driver and passengers. One of the standout features is Ford’s innovative “MegaBox” storage solution in the boot, adding practicality and flexibility that rivals in this class can’t match. With official efficiency figures reaching around 50mpg, the Puma is also quite cheap to run for those that are more cost-conscious, and hybrid and electric models bring these running costs even further down.

The Corsa is our No.1 car of the year, given by the fact that it is the 4th best selling car of the year, with over 29,000 registrations, as well as it being one of the highest rated cars of 2025 as well. The Corsa is a practical and stylish hatchback that combines modern design (with the new Vizor style language), advanced technology, and excellent efficiency. It demonstrates that affordable doesn't mean you need to compromise. Beloved by both new and experienced drivers, the Corsa has built a large following of fans, and it's clear to see why. The 1.2 turbocharged engine brings with it incredible fuel efficiency, and the interior is packed with modern technology and safety features. Starting at around £19,000 to buy, the Corsa represents genuine value for those seeking a nimble city car or a first-time upgrade with reliability typical of the Vauxhall badge.
